A small remnant of wallum heath that was once common along the Sunshine Coast. Short walks, wildflowers, coastal birds and views of the ocean beach and lake feature here. Vividly coloured heath wildflowers reach their peak flowering time in late winter and spring months.

Visitors can enjoy this park today partly due to the work of a small group of people, including Kathleen McArthur who was passionate about wallum heathlands and the amazing wildflowers they contained. As an artist she painted many of them in her lifetime and raised community appreciation of them. As a conservationist and founding member of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland (1962), Kathleen campaigned to have natural areas protected in the Sunshine Coast region.

Friends of Currimundi Lake work one day per month with Qld Parks & Wildlife to remove weeds and revegetate the area.  See website calendar for working bee dates.
